We have been a family of five for seven weeks now, and I think I can finally say we are starting to find our rhythm. Life as a mother of three isn't really harder per say it's just so much busier! My day starts at 6:30 and typical ends between 10-10:30 when Ethan takes his last "scheduled " feeding of the day. Then there is the middle of the night feeding still, so does my day ever really end?

The hardest transition has been trying to keep with everyday chores, and making sure all three kids get some of my undivided attention during the day. By everyday chores i really do mean the basics, laundry, cooking, and dishes, then there is getting everyone around in the morning, John off to school, and then baths and bedtime routines at night. Anything other than that is a real stretch to squeeze in yet. I feel very accomplished if i actually get to run the vacuum or gasp I actually completely reorganized the kids toy room the other day! A job that use to take me maybe two hours took more like six but it got done.
Thankfully Ethan is generally an easy baby, of course since I started this post (it takes me a few days any more) he's been a little stinker but I'm pretty sure he's just going through a growth spurt. He is a great napper and is generally very content during his wake time. If he is a bit fussy I just slip him in the Moby wrap and he settles right down and I can continue to do whatever else needs to be done.

John is more than half way through kindergarten, and has learned so much this year. I have already bragged about how well he is doing with reading, and he loves math. Right now he is working on telling time on an analog clock and recognizing and counting coins, and like everything else he is picking up quickly and having fun doing so. He really is a little sponge! Aaron signed him up for tball a few weeks ago, and it was a big mistake telling him so because the season doesn't start for a while and he is ready now. So Aaron has been taking him down to the church gym and working on some basic skills. Needless to say he is extremely excited.

Audrey is loving being a big sister! She is very eager to help, and I'm continually trying to come up with ways she can. It has been fun watching her "mother" her dolls since Ethan has joined the family. She will be a great mommy one day, which right now is all she aspires to do when she grows up and if that's all she ever wants to do that will be completely A-OK with me. While John is looking forward to his first year of Tball, Audrey is looking forward to her first year or preschool! She wont start until September, thankfully because mom hasn't been as diligent about working with her as we did big brother. So the past few weeks we have been going over letter recognition again, and it's been so long that well it's like starting all over again..oye! She is also learning to write her name, and she is so very proud of herself when she does.

O yes, and then there is Minnie (the dog). She takes full advantage of mom being preoccupied, and loves to start trouble. For example chasing the the kids through the house, unfolding laundry, stealing toys from perfectly content quietly playing children, or standing in the window and barking ferociously at the dog three times her size next door.
yes things are a bit hectic at times, but such is life with a house fill of kids and a puppy and I wouldn't want it any other way.
