My poor boy

Pathetic looking isn't he? My little guy is not feeling well at all....he was up all last night coughing and vomiting up mucus, and by this morning had developed a fever 103 :( We went and saw our Dr. who suggested we start the breathing treatments because he is also wheezing....We didn't run the test so not an actually diagnosis but chances are that he has RSV, which at his age usually just means a sever cold, but John had pneumonia January 09 so he is prone to getting it again. So please keep my little guy in prayer...we definitely do not want to go down that road again.
As sick as he looks, he is actually in pretty good spirits as long as mom keeps the fever down...I can always tell when the Tylenol is wearing off because John suddenly gets very weepy over everything. So this is how we are spending our weekend...Secluded to our house taking Tylenol and abuterol every 4 hours and watching lots and lots of movies in hopes that little John recovers quickly.

My Sweet Baby Girl

Audrey is really developing a sweet personality lately! I am more excited about this than you can imagine because up until recently she has been a rather sober baby. She has always been one to snuggle...which i love! But smiles & laughter where hard to come by, and she had or rather still has a fear of strangers or anyone that is going to seperate her from mom. However lately she is full of smiles and she loves to talk or babble. John, Audrey and I actually had a full conversation in the car today...John and I had no idea what we where saying, but Audrey sure did and we all loved every minute of it. What ever Audrey said mom then John just mimicked, and the conversation ended with both John and Audrey laughing so hard that I myself couldn't help but laugh.
Then tonight my sister in-law came to visit whom Audrey had not seen in a while and she actually smiled and babbled at Aunt Lydia...wasn't thrilled when Aunt Lydia picked her up at first but after some time she was OK with that too!
O and did I mention she actually stayed in nursery this past Sunday!! ! This is a big deal for me people...this was the first service i have heard the sermon in, in at least 3 months...Thanks Megan!!!!What ever has brought on the sudden change in my baby girls personality I don't know..but i love to see her smile, and hear her laugh, and now at least have some hope that she will one day enjoy going to nursery and mom can once again sit through a full service on a regular basis :)

As a mother it is my job.....

I don't know about anyone else, but personally sometimes I find the thought of raising my children a little overwhelming. When both my children where born I took it as my responsibility to raise them to be a strong,& loving man and woman whom had a passion above all else to follow after God with all the hearts, minds, and souls. Sounded simple enough until I really began to think about what that would all really entail. How do I go about teaching them to be strong but sensitive, or how to teach them to love everyone the way God has called us to but also to guard their hearts, or the importance of taking care of her physical body but not to the point of vanity. Or the importance of being a servant to others, but not letting them take advantage of you. Or how to be confident without being boastful. Believe me this list could go on forever....Sometimes i don't feel i have what it takes to be a mother..It's in those moments that I turn to God...because we have all heard about the power of a praying mother...and I am learning that "As a mother it is my job to take care of the possible and trust God with the impossible."

Baby On The Move!

Yes it's true Audrey who just turned 8 months old is crawling, or rather army crawling. I am so excited for her! She has been rather frustrated lately being stuck in one spot as her brother runs around the house. There is no way she can keep up with him at this point, but as he has already realized his toys are no longer safe. If it's on the ground she will get to it, and this is making for one unhappy boy. We obviously need to work on sharing some more. I remember when John started crawling which wasn't until he was almost 10 months old I had mixed emotions, It's exciting and sad to watch your baby "growing up". This time however, I am not having as hard of a time...I am truly excited about this...Yes its a little saddening thinking time has gone so fast and this is just the first step toward independence for her, but I wouldn't mind if she was just a little but more independent. Audrey has been a very demanding baby and I have HIGH hopes that once she is able to get around better on her own she will be able to run along side and play with her brother with less interaction from mom!

How did this happen?!?!

I have to sadly admit that I am soooo out of shape! A week ago I started doing the Biggest Loser Cardio Max workout DVD, it took me the first 4 times to actually complete the 1st level, and was extremely sore the ENTIRE week! However, I haven't given up and it is getting easier, but then again I am only on the 1st level. Tonight I decided to go for a walk/jog...I came back with a HUGE blister on my heel, and a cramp in my butt/ thigh..... Not what i wanted to get out of that time! So needless to say I am feeling a little frustrated at the time, and embarrassed that I am so out of shape...but I refuse to give up! Some times I wonder how I let myself get to this point...There is simply no excuse! I want to take the kids to the pool and beach this year, and dont want to be embarrassed to be seen in a swim suit. So I will push forward and hope to see some improvement sooner rather than later!

Hard couple of months!

Only 4 more weeks!!! I can not wait for the high school wrestling season to be done..... In the past I have not minded Aaron helping out the team...and the truth is I still don't. However, this year has been rough on me. Aaron leaves around 8am and is not home again until 7:30 pm Monday-Friday, and has been gone almost every Saturday since New Years.... Which leaves me to handle 2 children & a 8 month old puppy 6 days a week all by myself!...Thankfully I have had some help from grandma, and grandpa Wright who will take John for a couple of hours from time to time, other wise I may have gone crazy by now...and believe me I'm close! Why it has been so hard this year I'm not sure...Is it just having a 2nd child makes it that much harder, or that they are both so young?!?!?! I'm pretty sure it's a little of both...But I have high hopes that next year wont be so bad with them both being a little older. However that is next year, we still have to make it through the next couple of weeks...which are the worst because 3 of those weekends are actually over night trips ....UHG!

One of the difficulties of being a stay at home mother of 2 young children, is finding the time & money to exercise. With being a 1 income family fiances have to stay pretty tight, so spending the money to join a gym, or go to classes (which it what i enjoy!) does not seem like the responsible thing to do...there are sooo many places that money should be used. Second is finding the time..with my husband working from 7:30- 5, and then going to wrestling from 5:30-7:30, my choices are to get up and going walking/running around 6 am, or going after 8 pm at night, and being honest here I am NOT a morning or night person. I am dragging by that time at night, and cringe when the kids start yelling for me any where from 6:30 am-7 am. And lets not forget that I do live in potter county and this time of year it is FREEZING..and i do NOT like the cold. There is the option of buying some workout videos and doing them while the kids nap....but they don't always nap together, and I'm never sure exactly how long they will sleep, so will I have enough time to workout and shower? So you see it's kinda of a dilemma, but i have to figure something out because I am sick of looking and feeling the way I do!!!!!!

Honesty is The Best Policy

I love that my 2 year old is completely honest with me, and pray that it stays that way! This weekend John stayed Saturday night at his cousin Megan's house to play with her little boy Tyler. Now John has been very rambunctious lately so I stressed many time before he went up there that he must be a good boy. We called once Saturday evening, and again once Sunday morning to make sure things where going ok and Megan assured us they were.
When we met up with John at church he gave hugs and kisses and I asked him if he had behaved himself and to my surprise he says " I Bite Tyler". I was shocked, biting has never been an issue with John. I immediately asked Megan about it and she laughed, and then went on to explain that Tyler actually stuck his finger into John's mouth, which of course led to John biting down on that finger. I was relieved that it wasn't as bas as it sounded, and humored that my little guy felt the need to tell on himself. There may be days he makes me feel like I'm living in a zoo with a bunch of wild animals, the way he swings and jumps and screeches, but over all he's a pretty good little guy.
