A Weekend Away

This weekend I got to spend some time alone with my man, and it was wonderful! We love our children, and I am so grateful to be able to stay home with them. However, a little time away now and again is needed. Anyone that spend 24 hours a day with their kids knows what I mean! Friday morning I took the kids to Belmont and dropped them off at my mom's where they stayed until my sister got out of work and then they went home with her for the rest of the weekend. I was worried about Audrey mostly, she tends to be a bit of a mama's girl and I know that once I'm gone she is usually fine, but wasn't sure if 3 days was pushing our luck a little bit. I also wasn't sure how she would handle going to bed and taking naps in new environments with out mom their to reassure her she was fine, and I also figured that we would take a few steps back on the potty training process that she has really caught on to just the past week. However, I couldn't be any happier to say that she went down for naps and bed with out a fuss just like she did at home, and she kept right up with her potty training ( a HUGE thanks to my mom and sister Shannnon).

Aaron and I had a great weekend, we stayed in a hotel about 15 minutes outside the city. We headed out early enough that we hit up a few yard sales on the way down, had time to settle in to our hotel room, relax, and grab I bite to eat before heading to the ball park. Our seats the 1st night where amazing, we sat on the 1st level right down the 3 rd base line. Although the team we or I should say he ( because everyone know I'm a YANKEE fan! ) was pulling for lost it was still an exciting game with just as many Phillie fans as Pirates fans there, trying to out cheer one another.

Saturday we slept in had breakfast at the hotel, and relaxed most of the morning. Aaron I think was eager to get out and do something, but I was all to happy to lay in bed and read a book in peace with nothing pressing to do and no little ones fighting for my attention. By early afternoon we got out and walked around the mall and a few other stores in the area where we scored swim suits for the entire family for under $30! I love a good sale :) After shopping we went back to the hotel where I did some more reading, and even took a nap before heading into the city early. PNC is a beautiful park with and awesome view and I had to take some photos!

The game Saturday night was even more exciting than the night before. They had the largest crowd they had ever had, and again it was split 50/50 with fans for both teams. Unfortunately the Phillie's lost again, but it was exciting to see them play and be part of such an enthusiastic crowd.

Over all we had a fun, relaxing weekend, but where ready to get home and see the kids. They seemed to have had a great weekend too. John was ready to go home but mainly because he knew we had bought puzzles for him, and Audrey who usually would stick to me like glue for the next 24 hours was happy to see me but would have been just as happy if she could have stayed with Aunt Shannon. I think that may have had something to do with the M&Ms she was getting for going to the potty:)

It was refreshing not only to get away for the weekend, but to also know the kids where well taken care of, and for that I can't thank my sister and brother inlaw enough!
